Attitude Adjustment (2-1) vs Midnight Marauders (1-2); (AA by 11)
Coach Vince Levigne speaks very highly of his players. Two straight weeks
it has come down to the wire and they have had the heart to pull it off.
Progress has to be a question though. Bettis is slumping, Elway's absence
hinders Terrell, and Greg Hill (lookind like sleeper of the year) is
now out for six to eight weeks. WRs get yds, but have problems getting
td's. TE contoversy going on right now...neither one putting up the
expected numbers. Holcombe's start might be the savior for AA this week.
Gannon still starts, and Chandler is fresh off the bye. Niether is
great, but both are consistently good. Coach GJ is still searching for
answers. He can't expect two many victories without a sufficient
replacement for Brad Johnson. Manning feels a little better after seeing
Leaf only completed one pass last week. WRs are solid though and might
have convinced me of an upset when noticing Falcon's defense is riding on a
prayer vs. San Fran. Stopped short with this stat: MM's starting defenses
this week have combined for a season total of -3. SeeSaw swings back to
AA in another somewhat close game.
The JV Experience (2-1) vs. Rage (2-1); (JV by 3)
Kordell Stewart...well, what can I say. A struggling QB playing the top defense
in the league. Emmitt is hurt, Robert Smith is still waiting to get hurt,
and Chucky "when you gonna go my" Way is streaky. WRs still dont impress
me, but continue to show some decency. Sharpe is headed for the ALL VIN-A
TEAM. Defenses continue to be strength of this Rage, but that is a
dangerous position to rely on. Bus faces Seattle this week, and is
wanting to bust loose. The Pack should sack the Panthers fairly easily.
JV's team should be fired up after their disappointing loss last week.
Prime Time Deion was running wild and there was nothing JV could do to
stop him. Expect a turn around in full effect this week. Even with two
newly acquired QB's at the helm. The Combo of Garrison, Faulk, and Alstott
could be top in league and should scare any team. WRs take a hit with
McCaffrey going to Miller Time, but should still surpass Rage. KC and
Tampa can hang with Pack and Seattle this week. Early promise continues
to deplete as overachieving Rage gets put in their place again.
Psychos (1-2) vs. Tree Huggin' Hippies (1-2); (Hippies by 20)
Psychos would've defeated AA if they could've dumped Washington's defense two weeks
ago. Pittsburgh and Oakland will have to be good enough for one week now. Pitt
could do better, Oakland could be doing worse. WRs are impressive with
Psychos being the only team to post three WRs in the top 12. RBs got
better then worse in one day. With Fred Taylor as the new starter in Jacksonville,
Coach Dave decided to trade him for a struggling Antowain Smith who is on a
bye this week. Insisting on playing two starting RBs each week? Not
wise. Luckily, the ever so scary (pun) Ahman Green gets the nod this week
from THH after being picked up off waivers. He will line up against the
slightly scarier (pun-2) Marc Edwards. Coach Fusnickens did go and get
help for the week by acquiring Taylor, and should be set for weeks to
come. Rod Smith is still looking for the endzone. SF always holds up,
but Chicago against the high powered Randall Moss and Co. has to have Coach
Richie retreating to the chat lines this weekend. Top Threat Keyshawn
will be greatly missed as Tree drops a depressing loss to Psychos this
week.
Toin Coss (2-1) vs. T and A (1-2); (TC by 3)
T&A will be welcoming Rice back from the bye with flowers and stuff.
Banks and Plummer rip it up versus each other in the "Whose Defense Sucks More
Bowl". WRs are tops in league...hands down. RBs are in need of help.
Kimble is clearly not the answer. Santiago has to prove himself if he
wants to take over for the highly disappointing Coates. Defenses continue to
shock the world, but not Toin Coss. (See coaches comments at end of
predictions). His team should be highly prepared after losing a thriller
to AA last week. Bitter feelings are still in the air, and they should
explode this week. Expect RBs to lead the way for TC after an extremely
upsetting peformance last week. Barry will get the ball and Pyne will be
wanting to destroy his former team. TC's WRs are decent enough to earn
the victory, but real key will be McNair's health and well...Dilferblows.
T&A wont be tossing coin this week.
AND NOW MY FEATURE PRESENTATION!!!!!!
THE GAME OF THE WEEK....
Miller Time (1-2) vs. Thundering Herd (1-2); (Miller by 17)
This game has some hidden qualities that make it particularily interesting
to me. Randall and Moon...wow nice duo, right? Wrong! Try Brunell and
Young. Advantage Miller. Lane, Bennet, Anderson...not bad. Dillon,
Enis, Centers. Pretty close. Fryar, Real Deal Moss, Brucie Baby, Jett,
Chrebet (oops, he's on bye)...well you get my point. Miller Time has some
good WRs but advantage TH. The Herd will be stampeding this week with
power on defense. Dallas, or should i say Deion, was on fire last week, repeat
performance possible versus the Raiders this week. I dont know what to say
about this game...ooh...just watch the games and enjoy. McCaffrey is an
excellent addition for Miller Time. Throw in a little Fred Lane and you
have yourself the trade of the year (JV also got what he needed). Who's
got game? We'll find out Sunday! Herd has the WRs and the Randall to Moss
connection. Miller has the Brunell to Smith combo. Tough call, but being a
Randall fan for life leads me to a thundering decision.
***Coach's Corner***
----Coach Joe McHugh's thoughts on this week's game vs. T&A----
"His (Coach Vince Sr.) QBs are not playing the toughest defenses in the league, and New Orleans' defense is playing Indy, a defense's heaven. His receivers are also playing some not so great secondaries. His team is poised for the best week he has had yet, but I remain confident that my team will prevail through the storm."
