2001 Draft Analysis

(Not Power Rankings!!)

Instead of doing Power Rankings this year, I decided to leave that to Vince and provide everyone with a new type of preseason analyis: Who had the best draft. These rankings are based off of two things, talent and depth at each position (I left off kickers... who cares about kickers?). Note that the first table factors in only my opinions of who has the best combination of talent and depth as each position, regardless of actualy draft position. The second table shows a combination of who has the best talent and depth along with accounting for their draft position. So basically it shows who made the best of their draft position. For instance, if there are a few teams close together in draft rating, then if someone picked much lower than the other person the person who picked lower obviously drafted better.

Note that these rankings in no way indicate which teams will actually do better in the regular season, because if someone has the top set of running backs and one of the worst sets of tight ends, for instance, they will be ranked lower than in a analysis of teams' actual potential to produce points. Enjoy!
